LogistSpeak is a Windows app and the logistspeak.com site. This page explains what data the app and the site handle, where it goes and how to delete it.
1. What stays on your computer only
Your progress, session history, personal vocabulary and settings live in the app data folder on your computer.
Recordings of your turns are kept on the computer when "Save recordings" is turned on in Settings.
Third-party keys, if you add them, are stored encrypted with Windows.
All of it can be deleted in the app ("Delete data") or by removing the data folder. None of it is copied to our server.
2. What is sent when you use the LogistSpeak cloud
If you have not added keys of your own, the app works through the LogistSpeak cloud. Then these go to the logistspeak.com server: the text of your turns and of the replies, the recording of your voice (for speech recognition and the reading check), texts for voice and translation, the app version and a random installation number with no personal data. The server technically sees the IP address a request comes from.
The LogistSpeak server does not store the content of requests, neither text nor audio. It forwards the request to Google Gemini and returns the answer. The server log keeps only the time, the request path, the response code and the duration.
The installation number is used only to limit abuse (request limits). It is random and not tied to your identity.
3. Google Gemini and Microsoft Azure
Google processes the text and audio under the Gemini API terms. For the paid tier Google states that such data is not used to train models; the terms depend on the tier, and the current text is at ai.google.dev/gemini-api/terms.
If Microsoft Azure AI Speech services are turned on at the server (sound-level pronunciation scoring and voicing of replies), the recording of your voice during the reading check and the texts for voicing are also sent to Azure and handled under Microsoft's terms. Our server does not store them.
Do not say or type document numbers, banking details, passwords or other sensitive information into the app: it is meant for practising work English.
4. Your own keys and turning the cloud off
If you add your own keys (Gemini, Anthropic, OpenAI, Azure), requests go straight to those services, bypassing the LogistSpeak server, and are handled under their terms.
The cloud can be turned off in Settings: "If I have no keys of my own, use the LogistSpeak cloud". Then without your own keys the app runs in demo mode and sends nothing.
5. The site
The site is static. It uses no cookies, ads or analytics, and loads no third-party scripts or fonts. The browser stores only your language and theme choice.
When you download the file the server, like any web server, records technical details of the request (time, address, IP).
6. Retention and security
The content of your sessions is not stored on the server. The technical log is kept for a limited time and is used only to run and protect the service.
The connection to the server is protected by HTTPS. The Google access key lives only on the server and is never sent to the app. The number of requests is limited.
7. Your rights
You control local data yourself (section 1). Session content is not stored on the server, so there is nothing to delete there. For questions about data use the contact below.
The app is not intended for children under 16.
8. Changes
If the way data is handled changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
